Dzung’s passion for  wood and handicraft began when he found an old magazine about Chinese furniture. He was inspired by what he saw in this magazine since  the craftsmen had respected the natural materials with which they were working  – allowing the wood to provide both structure and decoration and avoiding artificial embellishment. It was this strength and simplicity that appealed to him. Accordingly, he decided to pursue his  love of wood and to further explore the finer aspects of woodcraft.

Over the last few years, Dzung has gathered together a group of artisans who share his passion and creativity. Thus VanLoi Oriental Style was born. The increasing accessibility and fusion of Western and Oriental interiors and style has generated a thriving business which employs an increasing number of artisans. With his wealth of experience and skill, Dzung and his artisans create beautiful pieces of artwork which preserve and display the innate beauty of this time-old medium of wood.
